International Arts Carnival 2023 - This This This This Rice!

Concert "This This This This Rice!" was successfully held by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 29 and 30 July. As one of the highlights of the International Arts Carnival 2023, this multi-media concert brought together drama, choral music, dance and Chinese music, showcasing the glitter of daily life in Hong Kong and the city’s unique food culture vividly.

The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to participate in this interesting collaboration. Guided by the conductor of HKCO Chew Hee-chiat, director Janwick Lam, assistant director and choreographer Christopher Ying, members from HKCC Junior 2B, Junior 2D and Intermediate 1K teamed up with child actors selected from different classes and the A Cappella choral theatre company Yat Po Singers to present the mini-musical Come and Eat. Additionally, the choir, Yat Po Singers and the orchestra presented Children, Love Hong Kong and Pao Chu Le in the second half of the concert, treating the audience a fun-filled, mouth-watering summer feast of music.
