Chamber Youth Concert 2024

The annual concert of HKCC Chamber Youth took place on 8 September at the West Kowloon Centre Recital Hall. The theme of this year’s concert, "Puisque Tout Passe" ("Since Everything Passes"), conveyed the message of living in the moment through songs from various languages and different periods.
The concert opened with the medieval Latin piece Gaudete! This was followed by two songs celebrating the joys of youth in spring and the beauty of nature: Now is the Month of Maying and excerpts from the medley Six Chansons. The program also featured works by local composers, including The Crane Releasing Pavilion by Chan Kai-young, who was present at the event, and Yu Miri composed by Leon Ko with lyrics by Chris Shum and arranged by Ng Cheuk-yin, from the musical The Passage Beyond. The concert concluded on a high note with a lively performance of the dance tune Puttin' on the Ritz, ending the evening in a joyous and relaxed atmosphere.
