53rd Hong Kong Arts Festival: Bizet’s Carmen
Date: 27/03/2025

The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to participate in Bizet's Carmen, hosted by the Hong Kong Arts Festival, with four successful and captivating performances held from 27 March to 30 March. This production was conducted by Victor Jacob and directed by Stage Director Romain Gilbert. Under the guidance of Chorus Master Alex Tam, selected members from Senior A performed as street kids in act 1 and act 4. Our members joined forces with the Royal Opera of Versailles Choir, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and several internationally renowned opera organizations—including the Bru Zane France, Opéra Royal – Château de Versailles Spectacles, the Opéra de Rouen Normandie, and the Palazzetto Bru Zane. Together, they presented this classic opera, delivering an inspiring experience to the audience. This performance also received a feature article in the South China Morning Post, with a special note to HKCC’s performance, “special mention goes to the outstanding singing and acting of the HK Children’s Choir, who did the home team proud.”.
