Chamber Youth 20th Anniversary Concert "Our Music, Our Youth"

A milestone anniversary concert of The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (HKCC) Chamber Youth will be held at Sheung Wan Civic Centre Theatre on the evening of 24 October, celebrating the Chamber Youth’s remarkable 20th anniversary.
Founded in 2006 by HKCC Music Director and Principal Conductor Kathy Fok, Chamber Youth serves as a professional artistic platform for passionate teenagers who love choral music and embrace diverse musical styles. Notable performances include the “35th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony” in 2016, “36th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony” in 2017, the 47th Hong Kong Arts Festival – “No Limits” Neworld Theatre: King Arthur’s Night in 2019, the commemorative events of The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited in 2023 and 2025, as well as a performance with Grammy Award-winning soprano Sumi Jo at the HKGNA Music Festival 2025. In addition to local performances, Chamber Youth has been invited to various exchanges and workshops, including the “1st Kagoshima Asian Youth Arts Festival” in Japan in 2006. In 2012, the Bureau of Education and Youth Affairs and the Macau International Centre of Culture and Arts invited the group to be the performing guest for the “31st Inter-school Singing Competition”.
This 20th anniversary concert marks a special milestone, featuring one highlight: a medley arranged by Chamber Youth members, with songs that have accompanied their musical journey over the years. The concert showcases members’ diverse musical styles, demonstrating strong technique across a wide range of genres, including sacred music and pop repertoire. Led by Vivian Ip, HKCC alumna and 3rd Prize winner of the 2025 International Ferenc Fricsay Conducting Competition, together with accompanist Alexander Wong, Chamber Youth members deliver sincere and touching choral performances. Through beautiful melodies, the choir shares unique growth stories and reconnects with the purest sound from the heart.
